Bayberry - Bayside Bonito

A dense, native evergreen that is perfect for warm climate gardens and landscapes. Bayside Bonito® Southern wax myrtle's healthy evergreen foliage brings a fresh feel to the landscape year-round, and because it’s a male selection, it bears no fruit to make a mess or spread seeds around your yard. Its dense, versatile habit makes it a perfect option for screens, hedges, shrub borders, erosion control along stream beds, and wetland gardens. Thanks to its salt tolerance, it is also a great choice for seaside plantings. This rugged, uniform native Myrica cerifera comes to us from plantsman Jim Berry of Grand Saline, Texas, where they report zero incidences of wax myrtle bacterial stem canker after many years of testing.
