Rodrigues's first professional acting experience was when he played the role of the young Simba in The Lion King's Australian tour at the Capitol Theatre starting in October 2003. He had no training prior to the audition but still got the role on stage as one of the lead characters. He performed three times per week for two and a half years. In January 2008, Rodrigues announced he wanted a career in acting and joined an acting agency. He received several commercial roles and auditioned for the part of Jai Fernandez in Home and Away. He made his debut in March 2008. In 2009, Rodrigues was nominated for a TV Week Silver Logie as Most Popular New Talent after he finished his role as 'Jai' on Home and Away. In mid 2009, he landed a role in the ABC series Dance Academy. He was cast as one of the main characters, Christian Reed. Xenia Goodwin (born 7 February 1994) is an Australian actress and dancer. Goodwin is best known for her starring role as Tara Webster on the ABC television series Dance Academy, which was her first on-screen appearance. She reprised her role in series two, which aired in 2012. Goodwin has studied dance at the Tanya Pearson Classical Coaching Academy and the Valerie Jenkins Academy of Ballet. Alicia Banit is an Australian actress and dancer who is best known for her role as Kat in the ABC television series Dance Academy. Banit first acting appearance was in the Australian film Dead Letter Office, playing a younger version of the main character Alice. In 2006, she had a two episode minor role in the Network Ten soap opera Neighbours as Madison Sullivan, then in 2008 she returned to the soap for another two episode role, this time portraying Sharni Hillman. From 2007 to 2009 she had two guest roles on the Australian version of the Disney Channel series As The Bell Rings playing Amber. In 2007, she was cast in Chris Lilley's television series Summer Heights High as Kaitlyn for the duration of the first season.
